Overview

A six-day private honeymoon circuit: two nights in a top-tier Marrakech riad, a night at a restored Atlas mountain lodge, a sunrise balloon flight, and two nights at a luxury desert camp in the Sahara — every detail curated for couples.

This is the journey we design when someone writes 'it needs to be perfect'. Six days, two people, one dedicated driver-guide and a hand-picked series of intimate spaces: a boutique riad with a private courtyard plunge pool, a 19th-century kasbah converted into a mountain lodge above Aït Ben Haddou, and a private-suite luxury camp in Erg Chebbi with a butler, a king bed and an unobstructed view of 180m dunes.

We add the details that make a honeymoon: rose petals in the riad on arrival, a private balloon flight at dawn over the Marrakech palmeraie, a couples' hammam ritual, a sunset camel ride, and a Berber musician who plays outside your camp tent after dinner. Every itinerary can be adjusted — we've done this particular journey forty times and know every property and every variation.

    Day 1 · Arrive Marrakech

    Marrakech medina

Private airport transfer to your boutique riad — rose petals, a chilled bottle of rosé and a fruit platter waiting in the room. Slow afternoon on the courtyard terrace. Sunset rooftop aperitif, dinner at a private chef's-table restaurant in the Mouassine quarter.

Boutique riad with plunge pool, Marrakech medina D
  2. 2

Day 2 · Balloon at dawn · Medina · Hammam

    Marrakech

Pre-dawn riad pickup for a private balloon flight (two-person or small basket) over the palmeraie as the Atlas turns gold. Back to the riad for a late breakfast. Late morning on foot through the medina — Bahia palace, Ben Youssef madrasa, Jardin Secret — then an afternoon couples' hammam: black soap steam, exfoliation, argan oil massage, mint tea. Early dinner in the riad, early night.

Day 3 · Marrakech → High Atlas → Aït Ben Haddou

    Tizi n'Tichka · 250km

Morning departure over the High Atlas on the Tizi n'Tichka road (2,260m). Stops for the view and Berber tea at the summit. Descend to Telouet kasbah — a crumbling 19th-century glaoui palace seldom visited — and on to Aït Ben Haddou by late afternoon. Sunset walk through the ancient ksour with just your guide. Candlelit dinner at the kasbah lodge.

Day 4 · Aït Ben Haddou → Dades Valley → Erg Chebbi

    Rose Valley road · 350km

Day 5 · A full day in the dunes

    Erg Chebbi

Sunrise dune climb — the most romantic hour of the journey. Breakfast on a dune crest. A free day at the camp: optional 4x4 drive to the Khamlia village of gnaoua musicians, sandboarding, or simply reading in the shade of your private terrace. Second sunset, second candlelit dinner. A second night under the Milky Way.

Frequently asked

Questions about this tour.

Is "A Honeymoon in Morocco" private or a group tour?

100% private. Just you and the people you book with — your own driver, vehicle and pace from start to finish. We never pool travellers.

Can I change the dates or itinerary?

Yes. Every itinerary is a starting point. Add a day, swap a riad, change the start city — we'll re-quote in 24 hours and lock the price in writing before any deposit.

How fit do I need to be?

Moderate. Expect 2–4 hours of light walking per day and one or two longer driving days. We pace days carefully and stop often.

When should I book?

For high season (Oct–Apr) and any trip involving the Sahara or hot-air balloon, book 8–12 weeks ahead. Last-minute (under 14 days) is usually still possible with a phone call.

Can you arrange a marriage proposal in the dunes?

We've arranged many. Tell us at booking and we'll organise champagne on the dune crest at sunset, a discreet moment for the guide to withdraw, and a photographer if you'd like one. No extra charge — just a WhatsApp message to our concierge.

Which month is best for a honeymoon in Morocco?

October and November are ideal: the desert is warm but not scorching, the Atlas is clear, and Marrakech is at its best. March and April are also beautiful — wildflowers on the Atlas, cool desert days, green valleys. Avoid July–August in the desert (extreme heat); the coast and mountains are fine year-round.
